The Lithuanian Border Guard fleet has recently received a valuable addition – 17 brand-new Toyota Land Cruisers equipped with special modifications to enhance patrol efficiency.
At METEC, we are honored to be part of this project by supplying these SUVs with durable and secure skidplate sets for underbody protection (product code 835541).
This has been a long-term project – the procurement process began in 2018, and throughout this period, we have delivered underbody protection kits for more than 200 vehicles. METEC’s skid plates ensure crucial durability in the challenging road conditions that border patrol units face daily.
The new Toyota Land Cruisers are equipped with specialized light and sound systems, a programmable pre-heater and cabin heater, a telemetry system, a dashcam, and a power inverter. Additionally, each vehicle features a magnetic searchlight. The cost of each fully equipped vehicle is approximately €61,000.
The supplier of these new border patrol vehicles was METEC’s official Lithuanian distributor, Mototoja, who won the corresponding public procurement contract. As part of this ongoing project, Lithuania’s State Security Service plans to add another 34 similar vehicles to its fleet, with a total contract value of approximately €1.035 million.
The official handover ceremony took place at the Lithuanian Border Guard Headquarters, attended by representatives from both the Border Guard leadership and Mototoja. The vehicles were blessed by Vilnius Police Chaplain Simas Maksvytis before being deployed to various border patrol regions across Lithuania, including Vilnius, Varėna, the coastal region, and Pagegiai.
